Juan de Marcos presents
Afro Cuban All Stars

The hottest big band in Cuba today, the 16-piece AFRO-CUBAN ALL STARS are led by Buena Vista Social Club creator Juan de Marcos González, and dazzle with their playing. Definitely a dancing treat for your feet and certainly not to be missed!

Natacha Atlas

As befits her globetrotting lifestyle and influences, Middle Eastern singer Natacha Atlas has entrancingly fused North African and Arabic music with western electronic beats to produce a unique dance music hybrid.

Natacha Atlas (it’s her real name) was born in Belgium, of Middle Eastern descent, with ancestral and family links to Egypt, Palestine and Morocco. Having moved around the world for most of her life, living in Brussels, Egypt, Greece and England, her experience of different cultures has most certainly influenced her music.

Eliza Carthy and the Ratcatchers

Eliza Carthy, at 29 years old, is only beginning to reach the height of her musical powers after over fifteen years of making traditional music. In this time, she has become one of the most energetic and dynamic musicians of her generation, championing and specializing in English traditional song and dance, whilst collaborating with an array of performers from all over the globe.

Bellowhead

Together for just one year, bellowhead have already caused a huge stir and after just six performances were the winners of ‘best live act’ at the Radio 2 Folk Awards as well as being nominated for ‘best group’.

Their debut recording E.P. Onymous, gathered critical acclaim from all quarters, including a five star review in Mojo, no mean feat, as it was originally recorded as a demo and only intended for sale at gigs.

A recent gig at Scala, a nightclub in central London had a capacity crowd of what one reviewer described it as ‘the youngest audience for a folk gig since Dylan’s heyday’ queuing around the block.

Featuring some of the most talented players from the younger generation of the English traditional and world music scenes, bellowhead put English music firmly on the world stage.
